Final Finisher at 2012 Hawaii Ironman
77 year old Harriet Anderson from San Carlos, California was the 1,886th athlete to cross the finish line at the 2012 Ironman World Championship on Saturday, October 13th under the 17 hour deadline. And she did it with 41 seconds (officially) to spare. In addition to being the final athlete to cross the finish line, she was also the oldest women this year to finish and won on her age group (75-79).
Harriet swam a 2:10:18 (9 minutes, 42 seconds under the cut-off), biked 7:37:50 and ran the marathon in 6:49:36.
